Before you buy
Checking a used SLK
Grade these on condition alone; there is no reputation premium to protect. They get played hard by newer players, so expect real cosmetic wear and check the handle to face join before anything else. Face texture goes early on the composite faces, which matters less here than on a raw carbon paddle because spin was never the selling point. The honest framing is that a well graded SLK is a good cheap paddle, not a cheap Selkirk. At the price a used one lands at, that is a perfectly reasonable thing to buy.
A first real paddle to replace a starter set, or a spare to leave in the car. Anyone buying used specifically for the Selkirk feel should be looking at Vanguard.

Buying a used SLK
- Is a used Selkirk SLK worth buying?
- Yes, if you know its condition. A used SLK costs less than new, and the checks above are what separate a good one from a tired one. We run them on every unit before it is listed, so the grade next to the price is the answer.
- How do you grade a used SLK?
- The same way as everything else here: weighed, tapped, measured and checked on twelve points, then graded Mint, Like New or Excellent. Anything below the floor is declined rather than listed cheaply, so a low price means an older generation or more cosmetic wear, never a paddle that failed inspection.
- Can I trade in my SLK?
