The entry point, and the price where buying second-hand stops being a compromise and starts being the obvious move. A hundred dollars buys a starter paddle new; here it buys one that somebody else paid two or three times that for.

Before you buy
At this ceiling you are mostly looking at previous-generation flagships and current-generation mid-tier paddles with honest cosmetic wear — a scuffed edge guard, a face that has seen a season. What you are not looking at is anything that failed inspection, because those never reach the shop at any price. The trade-off is real and it is specific: expect an older mould or visible wear, not a compromised paddle. If you are buying a first real paddle to replace a starter set, this is the shelf to buy from.
