Before you buy
Checking a used Tempest
Paddletek cores hold up better than most, so the common fault on a used Tempest is a tired grip, the cheapest component on the paddle to replace and the one that most changes how it feels. Listen for a rattle when you tap the face, which on older runs is the giveaway for core separation and is a decline rather than a discount. The faces go smooth with heavy use and that is not recoverable.
