Build quality is consistently high and the handles are unusually well finished, which matters more than it sounds when you are buying second-hand.

Before you buy
Paddletek cores hold up well, so the usual fault on a used one is a tired grip rather than a dead paddle, and a grip is the cheapest thing on it to replace. Listen for a rattle when you tap the face: on older Bantam units that is the giveaway for core separation, and it is a decline here, not a discount. Tempest faces go smooth with heavy use and that is not recoverable.
We run that check on every unit before it is listed, and the result is the grade on the card. Lines we see most from Paddletek: Bantam, TKO, Tempest.
