Before you buy
The trade-off for that soft face is that it wears faster than a hard composite, so grit is the thing to examine and the thing that sets the grade. A used Engage with a lively face is worth paying up for; a smooth one is a different paddle to the one in the reviews. Handles and edge guards on these tend to outlast the face by a wide margin.
